Chair Yin: Your Nervous System and Your Neck

This is a go to, short practice to relieve neck and shoulder tension naturally. The whole practice can be done from a simple chair. You will engage in some somatic work as well as gentle stretching to increase range of motion and reduce feelings of stiffness. You will also learn about the relationship between these cranky tissues and the nervous systems. Chronic muscle tension in neck and shoulders can be debilitating and painful. But there are holistic strategies that you can use to get some relief.

Intro to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is just the most important thing that most of us aren’t doing. It has enormous health benefits and can be useful in addressing chronic stress, ongoing pain, anxiety, depression, immunity support and SO. MUCH. MORE.

Let’s Rock!

This class has all of the elements you could want out of a whole body 90 minute flow. We’ve got a luxurious warm up, a somatic intention (rocking), a slow burn to a sweaty peak. In addition to some of your favorite poses we will work some fun and challenging drills all with a whole body, participatory rocking action that will make so much sense in familiar poses. A scrumptious cooldown and short meditation round out our practice. What are you waiting for? Hit play and lets rock!

Something for Nothing

Often we have an intractible, parasitic tension that causes pain. This tension is the bodies’ way of protecting an area. Sometime, relieving the tension can relieve the pain. Most of the time a stretch won’t do it. Instead we will have to teach the tissues to let go. This is a class about learning to let go, with techniques for doing just that.

Sternal Rhythm

This practice focuses on restoring the rhythm between the sternum, neck, jaw and hip. We will utilize some somatic movements to help you attend to the sternum. For many this movement is a real challenge but no worries, I’ve offered some helpful tools for learning. You will have some opportunities for comfortable holds in familiar Yin poses as well.
