Intro to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is just the most important thing that most of us aren’t doing. It has enormous health benefits and can be useful in addressing chronic stress, ongoing pain, anxiety, depression, immunity support and SO. MUCH. MORE.

Yin Nest: Cultivating Safety Within

Chronic Stress effects nearly every human and it definitely takes a toll on our bodies. Stress affects every cell of you, sometimes in unexpected ways. Your endocrine system, your immune system, and your motor system all mobilize to protect you from real or potential threats. In this class we will explore the areas of the body that are often guarding, ready to fight or flee; the psoas and the pelvic floor. We will utilize breathing practice, awareness, somatic education and yes, even a little stretching to soothe these areas which can in turn, turn down the volume in your entire nervous system.

Nerve Flossing for Sciatic Trouble

Sciatic nerve issues are a special kind of hell. That stingy, nervy, intense pain down into the thigh, back of knee, heel or even foot happens on a spectrum. Some of us get occasional jolts, others full on numbness of the foot. It’s always best to get checked out by your doctor if you are experiencing these symptoms. But if you are in a management and healing phase, this practice can restore the sliding and gliding to your sciatic nerve both in the gluteal muscles and at the various nerve roots. This kind of suppleness is a big part of healing.

Let’s Rock!

This class has all of the elements you could want out of a whole body 90 minute flow. We’ve got a luxurious warm up, a somatic intention (rocking), a slow burn to a sweaty peak. In addition to some of your favorite poses we will work some fun and challenging drills all with a whole body, participatory rocking action that will make so much sense in familiar poses. A scrumptious cooldown and short meditation round out our practice. What are you waiting for? Hit play and lets rock!

Body Here-ness

Many of us develop an antaogonisim with our bodies. In our younger years it’s because we feel that we don’t have the most desirable features. As we age we feel betrayed by the body for getting older, and illness and pain almost always result in negative feelings about the body. In this practice we will move through some gentle yet powerful somatic informers to help us settle fully into supported poses. We will also make use of an sweet mantra throughout; “I am here for my body/my body is here for me”. You are going to feel amazing after this practice and I hope you emerge with a new sense of friendship with your incredible body.
