Persistent pain is a bewildering and expensive condition.  It’s hard to know where to turn to restore health, vitality and movement to your life.  The Shift School is an online community devoted to Pain Care and Healing Chronic pain.  Guided by scientific evidence, the Shift community is all about small, every day practices and lifestyle changes that get you back to your life and out of daily pain.

Mandy taught me so much about chronic pain and gave me the tools to help manage it. I’m a firm believer now that mind body and soul are all connected and equally important. Step by Step pain Care

Getting back to movement is necessary, but daunting. That’s why, from your first day in the Shift School, you will have access to a step by step process for healing and recovering movement so that you can get back to the things that pain has taken away. This process is affirming and empowering. Specialized programs guide you though the essential elements of pain care: education, awareness, movement and regulation. You will be supported throughout the process by others on the path and group mentors so you can finally move beyond chronic pain.

The first 10 weeks of your Shift School journey will be structured with simple practices and educational opportunities that fit into your everyday, because healing takes consistency!

The practice library provides hundreds of classes for self care, gaining strength and mobility, reducing stress and increasing resilience. About Mandy

My passion is pain care and restorative fitness. I’ve had the privilege to learn from some of the most esteemed pain science educators in North America and apply this learning to my enthusiasm for helping others move well and meet fitness goals.  I’ve been teaching Yoga since 2008 and working with individuals who suffer from chronic pain since 2012. My interest in biology, anatomy and movement science inform my deeply held belief that every human body is capable of healing and learning. I utilize techniques from many traditions of Yoga as well as Feldenkrais Method® and Strength training to guide my clients and members toward safe, comfortable movement and an improved life. I am also an experienced trainer of Yoga teachers and a Yoga educator teaching in the US and around the world.

That’s what the Shift School is all about. Pain is a necessesary part of the human expereince. But pain that steals your future, that disrupts your peace is not normal. Science tells us that there are MANY things that we can do to overcome chronic pain. The Shift School draws from the best, most recent evidence to provide wholistic tools for healing. Physical therapists are so important in the quest to heal chronic pain, but this is not physical therapy. It is an evidence informed multi modal approach to address ALL of the contributors to your pain, not just the tissues. Though your tissues can and will be addressed here.  The practices in Shift are designed to support you

  • If you have a pain condition, but don’t feel it warrants medical help or are trying to avoid a worsening of symptoms 
  • Are currently receiving medical help, including PT and want to build resilience alongside other therapies. 
  • Have finished PT and still need help or are looking for your next step back to whole wellness.
